The DC area’s scheduled events

There are countless events along the waterfront in the Washington area. Beat the traffic and add to your experience traveling by private boat. Some events, such as fireworks shows, are exactly twice as impressive (reflecting off the water).

Annual / Ongoing Events:

  • Independence Day Fireworks* (July 4th every year)

    • Contact us re: July 4th (online reservations may not show accurate pricing or availability). This is Washington’s premier day on the water!

  • Alexandria’s Birthday Fireworks* (a Saturday: July 8th in 2023)

    • Contact us re: July 8th 2023 (our online reservation system may not show accurate availability). These are a close runner-up to the 4th, with 3 advantages: The fireworks are launched from a barge on the water (= closer to the boats), the crowds are smaller, & they’re always on a Saturday night!

  • Washington Nationals Baseball Games, and other events at Nationals Park.

  • DC United Soccer Games

  • Holiday Boat Parade of Lights (Typically the first Saturday in December)

Events at Waterfront destinations:

* Rates may be higher for special events, such as these Fireworks displays.

Popular sightseeing — popular itineraries

Depending where you start, where you want to go, and how fast you want to go, cruises can be as short as you like (note: min. charge is 1.5 hours), or can last all day; “Living the Life” is an 8-hour tour, and allows you to feel like you’ve got your own boat, and can include swimming, sightseeing, sunbathing, dining, watching the sunset, and more. Call to discuss whatever works best for you.

  • Upper Potomac Cruise, from Georgetown (~1.5 hrs)

  • Monuments Cruise, from Georgetown (~1.5–2 hrs)

  • The Wharf & Washington Channel including the National War College and General’s Row (~2 hrs)

  • George Washington’s Mount Vernon Cruise (~3 hrs)

  • Mount Vernon, Alexandria, Monuments, and The Wharf (~4 hrs)
